What a Week...

I know it's been a while since I have posted anything and that's mainly because there hasn't been anything exciting going on lately.

I've continued to try to stay strong in the job hunt after not getting the job that I was so hopeful for, but it's very hard. I know God has a plan for me and when it is His timing He will open the door that is meant for me. I just have to continue to pray and stay as optimistic as possible.

Wednesday morning, not long after Quade got to work, he was hurt while trying to move a wheel barrow and could barely move his neck without experiencing very sharp pains and kept having constant spasms. The secretary at his job called me to come pick him up and for several hours all he was told he could do was take aspirin. The nurse through his company's work comp told him he could finally go to the doctor after it was obvious he wasn't getting any better. We found out he got a terrible muscle strain in his neck and has to stay in a neck brace and take muscle relaxants and Hydrocodone until he can go back to the doctor next Wednesday, his BIRTHDAY of all days!! Good news is I have him all to myself until then, and he's still being paid to be home. BUT....he's just a big ol' baby on all those pain meds unfortunately. I enjoy being able to take care of him, but I am having to pray for extra patience while he is recovering.

My biggest prayer is that he will be better by next week because we are supposed to go visit my grandma in Louisiana next weekend and I would like for him to be pain free.

I can officially say I am completely addicted to Pinterest!! I am in love with so many of the ideas on there and I just wish I had more money and space to be able to put all this new inspiration to use! I definitely have the time, but I wish that was all I needed. Let me know if anyone would like an invite or if you'd like to follow each other! I'll end with a humorous pin I found on there today. :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful, safe, and blessed weekend!!!

Mission: Lunch

I've been so bad about posting since the 30 day challenge ended! I didn't even get to do the last day since we spent the day at my parents. :( Oh well. I still haven't heard anything on to job yet. I called yesterday to see if they needed anything else from me. I know they've been calling my references because when we went to church Sunday, one of the ones I put down got a call so I know there's hope!

Mission: Lunches For Hubby

So my newest hobby is to try to find some easy lunches that are OK for hubby to eat at room temp sometimes most of the time without him having a microwave nearby. He's usually on location most of the day so I try to stock his insulated lunch bag full of stuff so he doesn't get hungry. I know he is bound to be getting tired of turkey, ham, or roast beef sandwiches. So this is why I need your help ladies! :) I have found many delicious recipes on your blogs before so I know you can help me out! So far these sounds really good and just what I'm needing!!

Cheesy Roast Beef Wraps

BLT Wrap Sandwich

Parmesan Tuna Sandwiches

Day 29: Three Things You Cannot Live Without

Day 29: Three Things You Cannot Live Without

There are so many things that could make this list, but when I really thought hard about it these were the most important. I would put Jesus first but I figured this was more of an earthly list. :)

Sorry, Katie, had to borrow this one! I can't live without it either! I know I could not get through most days without it. :)

This adorable little puppy! Now that we have had him for nearly a month, I can't imagine our lives without him. :) He makes us laugh so much each day sometimes by just a look he gives.

Best for last, my sexy and loving husband! I can get out of bed each morning pretty much because I wake up next to this man. God truly blessed me with my soulmate and I fall more and more in love with him each day!!

What's your three things?!

Day 28: Books

Before I get started on today's blog challenge, I just wanted to thank you all for your prayers and encouragement about my job interview yesterday! I have a really great feeling about it and they told me that they should have a decision by the end of the week. So hopefully I'll have good news for the wrap up to the blog challenge!!

Day 28: Books

I mainly have favorite authors instead of favorite books. I do have a few favorite books though. :)

Yes, maybe a little cheesy but truthfully it is my favorite book :)

I did fall into the Twilight trap like many did and I will probably always want to keep these in my library

My favorite author would have to be Lori Wick. I grew up reading her Christian fiction romance novels starting in about 4th grade and I have read almost all her books. I would strongly recommend you check her out if you haven't already. Here's some of my favorites of hers.

A book that I would recommend more than anything is this one...

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers is one of the greatest books about true love and the power of repentance and forgiveness. This book can get very deep, but I think everyone should read it!

Day 27: Three Wishes

Day 27: Three Wishes

Wish One
I really wish that I would get the church job that I am havving my second interview for today at 2:15! I don't want to put words in God's mouth by any means, but a large part of me believes that this is the reason that God has made me wait this long to get a job. More than anything I want to do His will and I just hope that this is it!

Wish Two
My hubby would get the raise that he is going to ask for before the end of this week. He's been basically promised twice this year that he would get one and he never got it. He has done everything and more that's been asked of him, PLUS has done all the travelling that he's been asked to do too! The travelling was definitely a great opportunity for him, but in my opinion, the per diem that he received everyday was just not enough. The raise would give him the recognition that he deserves and would give him back the self-confidence that he has been losing.

Wish Three
My second round IV infusion that I am receiving before my interview today would help my arthritis more. My doctor and I are hoping that with the progress of this medication I will be able to get off the prednisone steroids that I've been taking for the last 23 years. My bones have started to weaken and this would be a tremendous help. We'll know just how much damage the prednisone has done over the years when I go have my bone density taken tomorrow. I just hope no matter what the study shows, there will be a good solution. I will always and have always put my faith FIRST in God and I know He will take care of the rest. He has proven many times before that He is my Great Physician and I know whatever happens that I am in His wonderful hands!

Days 24, 25, and 26

Day 24: Shopping

I have my days when I love to shop and my days when I don't like shopping at all! A large part of it is my arthritis and how easy it is for me to get tired after a while. Here are my favorite places to shop at when I am in the mood!

Day 25: Shuffle

For today, we are supposed to put our Ipod, in my case my Iphone, on shuffle and list the first 10 songs. This should be interesting since I have a lot of my hubby's music and I have changed my Itunes over the last 10 or so years so here goes!

1. Sold (The Grundy County Auction)-John Michael Montgomery
2. Fox On The Run (from Dazed and Confused)- Sweet (HUBBY)
3. You Walked In- Lonestar
4. Here For A Good Time- George Strait :)
5. Playing With the Boys- Kenny Loggins (HUBBY)
6. Don't Ask Me About A Woman- Easton Corbin
7. Hearts Are Breaking Across Texas- Aaron Watson
8. A Lot To Learn About Livin'- Easton Corbin
9. Watch The Wind Blow By- Tim McGraw
10. Baby's Gotten Good At Goodbye- George Strait

I'm actually really surprised Rascal Flatts didn't come up since I have every single song and CD of theirs on my Iphone but I guess that's why they call it shuffle! :)

Day 26: Best Concert

My favorite concert is pretty much any of the five Rascal Flatts concerts that I've been to! The best one was probably the one my sister and I went to at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion, but I unfortunately didn't take any pictures. I do have a picture of my sister and I that I took when we were getting ready for them to come on aat the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. We are pretty much there every year that they come to the Houston Rodeo!

Sorry I know it's blurry since all I had was my phone, but you get the idea :)

Wish me luck tomorrow!!! I have a second interview at 2:15 for that church job that I was telling you about! I really have  good feeling about it so I hope I'm right!!!

Days 20, 21, 22, and 23

Day 20: Picture of Yourself

This was my favorite bridal picture and one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. This pose was actually my idea too which makes me even more proud. I can remember thinking about the upcoming wedding and Quade at this moment and just being so blissfully happy.

Day 21: Stress

It's kind of ironic the timing of this post topic. I, too, have many things that are stressing me out right now.

The main thing is I recently found out I have a fractured foot and since this last Saturday it's gotten worse. I've actually had the fractured foot for over a month now, but I didn't know until I got xrays done. I went to the doctor 2 days ago and he referred me to a specialist that can't see me until the 30th. Until then, I am in a walking boot, taking high dose pain pills, and using a walker around the house occasionally using a walker. We're supposed to be meeting some friends a

The other thing I'm stressed about is the job I told you about. I still haven't heard anything back, but I'm trying to not get discouraged since it's only been since Monday. The man said they were hoping to make a decision by the end of the week or early next week so I think I will call tomorrow afternoon and check on the status of the job.

Day 22: Hobbies

My only hobby, other than blogging :), that I really have that I would like to pick back up is drawing. I used to enter the county fair in my hometown every year and I always did pretty well. I even took art lessons for several years through the local art league and sometimes private lessons. Hear is my favorite picture that I drew many years ago that I would like to hang in our home somewhere, but we still haven't decided where would be best.

I love it because it has a great theme called "War and Peace." The little girl is holding a slingshot behind her back and the little soldier boy is holding a flower in front of him.

My plan is to draw Quade's favorite engagement picture of us for his birthday which is October 26th...so with a little over a month I should have plenty of time to do it!

Day 23: Favorite Blog Hop

This is an easy one because this is the only blog hop I've done, besides things like What I'm Loving Wednesdays. I don't really count those though. I have truly enjoyed this blog hop and it has made me want to do more of these if I find them! The topics have been great and I have had a blast getting to know more people and having more fun blogs to read every day. What excites me even more is following you guys after the blog hop is over and reading about what else y'all like to talk about most! :)
