Finally GOOD News, Great Music, and Weekend Update!!

Many of you have followed my last several posts about my job hunt being very unsuccessful and I'm happy to report that thanks to Kelly Services I've got my first temp job!!! My mom has been trying to get me to go to them for some assistance for a while now so yesterday I finally did. It took nearly 3 hours to complete all the paperwork, interview, and introduction information that they require, but it paid off! :) It's only a 3 day job as a front desk assistant at our local junior college, but at least it's something!

I've always waited until much closer to Thanksgiving to break down and start listening to Christmas music, BUT when Michael Buble' released his Christmas album on October 21st I decided I'd wait until after Halloween at least.

I've enjoyed it soooooo much so far! His voice is like sweet honey to my ears and oh so very sexy! Haha! I strongly recommend it!!

Another CD that I am really enjoying that was just released yesterday is Miranda Lambert's Four The Record!

I'm only about halfway through it, but I love every single song so far! I watched her perform on Regis and Kelly this morning and she looked and sounded so awesome!

Last weekend, my hubby and I made the 5 and a half hour drive to Louisiana to go visit my Grandma and Uncle. I hadn't seen my Grandma in nearly 5 years since she just moved back from living in Arkansas. Between school, my sister's hospitalization, and the wedding driving to Arkansas was just not a possibility. She's aging very quickly and health is unfortunately not very good so we're planning on visiting every couple months. She's in assisted living so we stayed in my Uncle's gorgeous house and spent some good quality time with him too. Saturday night, we met my cousin and er fiance' at a steakhouse and sushi restaurant that was so very delicious!! After dinner we went to the movies and saw In Time.

I really loved it and especially love when I can't guess the way I think the movie is going to end. We left to head back home after breakfast Sunday morning since we needed to come pick up Rowdy from my parents since they were gracious enough to watch him for us. :)

Have a great Wednesday!!

Catching Up Again: Days 6, 7, and 8

I really feel bad that I haven't kept up on the 30 day challenge like I have wanted to, but a lot has gone on in the last few days. My hubby ended up being asked to go out of state for work again and this time to Little Rock, Arkansas for a week and a half. :( I was excited because that's only about a 7 and a half hours drive from here so I was going to load up Rowdy on Friday and go. Well, yesterday I discovered that Rowdy has worms so I had to take him to the vet and he was treated, got his first shots, and ended up with ear mites as well. So very sad day for Rowdy and now I can't go to see hubby in Arkansas. I am looking forward to going out to dinner with my old roommates when I was at A&M tonight and my sister is coming to see me. At least Quade will be back next Friday instead of another 3 week trip.

 Day 6: Movies

I really love romantic chick flicks and comedies. I'll list some of my favorites into two groups.

Romantic chick flicks

A Walk to Remember
Sweet Home Alabama
Legally Blonde
Moulin Rouge
Father of the Bride 1 and 2
Grease
Sex and the City Movie
The Holiday

Comedies
Anchorman
Talledega Nights
Night at the Roxbury

Elf (love Will Ferrell if you couldn't tell)
Office Space
Zoolander
Meet the Parents
Meet the Fockers

Day 7: Favorite Vacation

NASHVILLE!!!

I fell in love with this town the first time my parents took me! Since then we've been back many more times. Here's my favorite things to do in Nashville!

Country Music Hall of Fame

Ryman Auditorium

Gaylord Opryland Resort and Hotel..Best hotel in town!!

Just look at the inside!
And you have to go at Christmas time.....

Day 8: Friends
I guess the same goes for everyone when I say that I've had friends who have come and gone. Some have even come back and we're stronger than before. Below are some of the greatest friends a girl could ask for!!

Left to right: Christa, Tricia, Courtney (sister), me, Kayla, Bonnie, and Katie

Tricia and Glenn then Crystal and Mark are father down. Both started out good friends of Quades and now are mine too. They were they ones who invited me to Schlitterbahn when hubby was out of town the first time. :)

Sarah and Kevin are Quade and I's probably closest friends combined. Kevin was his best man and I know Sarah would drop anything to help me or any friend in need. It's always great having other married friends to do things together!!

My friend Alysha is from Canada. We met when we were 13 on a cruise and we've kept contact ever since. I was so grateful she flew to Texas just for my wedding!

Childhood friends still closer than ever. Tricia, Kayla, Lindsey, and I have lost touch and come back together many times, but my wedding showed that we'll always be best friends! :)

Hope I can stay caught up now!

Case of the Mondays

Well I've made it through week one of my hubby being gone to North Dakota. I get to talk to him fairly often so I'm lucky for that, but it's not the same not being able to see him.

I have stayed busy in the last week and it's been fun. Monday I left to go stay with some of my hubby and I's friends to go to the Praha Picnic for some good ol' German food and fun.

Mmmmmmm

Monday night we enjoyed watching Bachelor Pad together...love that show! I can't believe how shallow Vienna and Kasey are!! I really wish one of them would get voted off so we could see how the other does without them HA! And I hate to admit I got pretty emotional over Ames deciding to leave with Jackie. I thought it was the sweetest thing I've ever seen!

Unfortunately I just heard they have already broken up. There's rumors though that he could possibly be the next Bachelor and I would be so excited if he does!!

Originally Tuesday was the day we were going to go to Schlitterbahn, but we had to rearrange to Thursday. Instead Tuesday and Wednesday I spent with my in laws which was great. When my mother-in-law got off work we drove to Cavenders to exchange a pair of Miss Me jeans she had received as a present for a pair of cute brown and pink boots. After Cavenders we went to the movies to see The Help!

I really enjoyed it and I want to read the book even more now! I just have to finish a couple others that I have first.

I also got a lot of time with hubby's niece and nephew during my two days there. Here's some fun we had with my camera on my phone.

The last picture is my favorite because he kept saying, "Look Michal I'm Tade!" He can't quite say Quade yet but I just thought it was the cutest thing because Quade always wears his sunglasses on top of his hat like that!

Thursday was finally Schlitterbahn day!! As hot as it's been in Texas I have been dying to go this summer! We were there right when the waterpark opened for the day and there were barely any lines for a long time. The water was so cold because many of the rides are fed by the river...I loved it!!

Here's a picture of all the gals

Friday I had one last lunch with my friends before heading back to my parent's house where I'll be staying for a while. We're grilling steaks and watching Monday Night Football tonight! It's been one of our favorite family traditions and I'm happy I can be here to share this time with them. :)

Hope you all have a great week!!!
